On Zayn Malik's one year anniversary after leaving his former band One Direction, he released his debut album Mind of Mine as well as a new video for “BeFoUr.” The album, which was first revealed to Zane Lowe back in January, features his hit single, "Pillowtalk." Its cover shows a childhood picture of Malik with added tattoos, BBC reported.

Malik tweeted when the album, featuring 18 songs, was made available on iTunes and Spotify while fans expressed their excitement to listen to the new songs from the singer.

In February, he was asked in an interview with Westwood One's Zach Sang and the Gang radio show if the album's release date was intended on the anniversary of his announcement to leave One Direction. He responded saying, "It just happens to coincide. Maybe it's a sign," according to ETOnline.

Meanwhile, the "It’s You" singer also released a new video of “BeFoUr” which shows the star hanging out with young people in an ordinary setting. He is seen front of a wall covered with graffiti, driving in the rain, joining some guys at a boxing gym, dancing in the street and chatting with friends at a pool hall and bar.

The regular day then turned into an evening bonfire party with a vehicle that is nearly engulfed with fire. At the end of the video, Malik left a late night joint with his friends.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the song is a response to the critics of Malik with a line that says: “If there’s something I want/ I’ll take all the right wrongs/ Now, I’m gonna stay in my zone/ I’m tired of picking that bone. So say what you wanna say.”

Aside from that, Malik also performed "Like I Would" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote his album.
