Lana Del Rey is celebrating the release of her new album Ultraviolence with an all-new cinematic music video. Today (June 17) the Hollywood-loving chanteuse released the official visual for her second single "Shades Of Cool."

Visually, "Shades Of Cool" is very much a Lana Del Rey music video, featuring subdued colors, fuzzy video quality and plenty of ethereal, vintage imagery. Check out that antique car, the blue-tinted angelic Del Rey figure swaying to the beat and all those California palm trees. This is unmistakably her work of art.

As for the storyline in "Shades Of Cool," Del Rey finds herself in the lush suburbs of Hollywood, falling in love with a much older man. "My baby lives in shades of blue / Blue eyes and jazz and attitude," Del Rey sings in the song's opening lines, very much depicting the reality showcased in her music video.

The older man, who has a vague interest in his Del Rey sex kitten, drives the singer around Los Angeles in his old school Chevy, eventually taking Del Rey back to his home where she (impractically) swims in a ruffled one-piece swimsuit, eyeliner and all. She also dances about his living room, showing off her free spirit and true sense of vintage style gangster love.

It's all very pretty and well shot, if not a little dragged out and dull... but what else is there to expect from a Lana Del Rey single?
