Following an epic set with Pendulum at Ultra Music Festival, Deadmau5 took over Apple Music's Beats 1 Radio for the first episode of his new show, Mau5trap Presents. In addition to joining Beats 1's stacked roster of radio DJs including DJ Khaled, A-Trak, Eric Prydz and Skrillex's OWSLA imprint among others, Joel Zimmerman uploaded a new track titled "Rio" to his Soundcloud.

Zimmerman divided the inaugural episode of his new show into two parts, beginning with a playlist featuring some of his favorite tracks by Boards of Canada, Tycho, Aphex Twin, Four Tet, Philip Glass Ensemble, Nils Frahm and Jon Hopkins among others. The second hour of the two-hour long show is a classic Deadmau5 set.

The set features a handful of Mau5trap artists including Matt Lange, BSOD, No Mana and some originals of Zimmerman's own. He also drops tracks by Boards of Canada and Jon Hopkins in his set. Give the whole show a listen, below.

The Canadian producer and DJ opened the show joking "For anyone who doesn't know me I'm a famous DJ," This Song Is Sick reports. The host also reveals early on in the broadcast that listeners can expect several world exclusives and some new material from his imprint in the coming weeks.

"Rio" opens with the familiar ambient progressive house chords fans have come to expect of Zimmerman, with the added depth of angelic vocal stabs. Layers of synths begin to build just before the clip ends.

Clocking in at just under two minutes, "Rio" is technically more of a teaser than a new track, Your EDM points out. Give it a listen, below.

The producer and DJ has hinted that a new album is on the way. While the details remain unclear, the fact that he's uploaded something fresh to Soundcloud is likely a good sign of what's to come.
