Details for the upcoming fourth LP from the Arcade Fire has been pretty locked down. About the only details we know is that contributing producer James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem) said that it will be awesome. However a hint came this weekend at several music festivals in the form of a video clip played between sets.

The clip, which is also featured at a mysterious website thereflektors.com, is shot in grainy black-and-white, with an arm filling in the letters spelling "reflector" into a sideways tic-tac-toe square embedded in a circle. Throughout, music that could easily be described as Arcade Fire-ish plays in the background. As the writer finishes, the camera shakes and cuts out. Fans at Lollapalooza and Osheaga (in the band's hometown of Montreal) saw the clip broadcasted.

The image has been popping up all over the world and uploaded to an Instagram account attached to thereflektors.com. It seems as though all of the drawings are done in chalk. Several artists have claimed that the promotion is connected to the band, but Arcade Fire itself hasn't commented on the recurring event yet.

The videos have led some to conclude that the new album title will be "Reflektor," although "The Reflektors" seems just as likely. A third and totally unrealistic suggestion is that viewers are reading the letters the wrong way, and that the sign actually says "RELFETKOR," which will be the name of the new subgenre that Win Butler creates when he adds hardcore vocals to Arcade Fire's baroque-alternative instrumentals.
