Over the years, the ever-evolving Julian Lennon has somehow abled himself to completely leave his father John Lennon's shadow behind and gain true recognition for being just what he is ... a great artist. And now, to celebrate, the Renaissance man is gearing up to release his first ever box set to the public.

The release was announced just yesterday. It's said to be made up of four discs with three selections of Lennon's most recent studio release, Everything Changes, in the form of studio, acoustic and instrumental versions. Also included will be the much-admired documentary Through The Picture Window. The film is a candid look at Lennon and his various outlets of work.

Completed by a 36-page booklet and a two-picture vinyl disc set, the release is currently available for pre-order here.

The "Hey Jude" inspiration, whose work includes not only music but also poetry, philanthropy and photography, has spent the past couple of years traveling the globe on a tour for his 2011 album Everything Changes. After wrapping that up, he worked as the still photographer on the forthcoming Eileen Gray biopic, Price of Desire. He then changed things up tremendously when he earned a newfound respect for technology and helped foster the app Through A Picture Window. The app sits as a new way to unleash his art to fans all over the globe, including audio, film and even visual.

The upcoming box set will arrive on the artist's mother Cynthia Lennon's birthday on September 10.
