Kanye West claims that his controversial track "Famous," off his recently released The Life of Pablo, helped him find his inspiration and put an end to his writer's block.

Kanye has always remained extremely candid in his lyrical content, allowing fans glimpses into his daily life as a pop icon and troubled superstar. On his single, "No More Parties in L.A.," Kanye rhymed about his inability to find lyrical inspiration. He said, "I know some fans didn't think I'd write like this again, but the writer's block is over MCs cancel your plans."

Now, Kanye is opening up about this period of creative stagnation. The rapper recently claimed that the controversial track "Famous" ended this period of artistic aimlessness.

This tidbit was revealed during one of Kanye's infamous "rants" during a performance at the Paradise International Music Festival. Speaking of the track, Kanye told the audience, "What I wanted you to know the whole time, ya know. In the spirit of Nina Simone. In the spirit of real artists. This is the song that broke the writer's block for me."

"It's something I wanted to say so bad. And they told me I couldn't say it. That night when I went of stage was the begging of the end of my life...When I just said what everyone was thinking," he continued, referring to the incident at the 2009 MTV Music Awards in which he interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech for "Best Female Video."

Kanye concluded by saying, "If I get in trouble for saying the truth. What's being said the rest of the time? I had to fight every day of my life. With a whole world turned against me. For saying out loud what everyone else felt. But that's the job of an artist. A true artist. To never be controlled by their finances. Not to be controlled by perception. But only to be controlled by their truth."
