Ariana Grande took her love for movies one step further by performing her sultry, new song "Dangerous Woman" at the MTV Movie Awards by channeling her inner Marilyn Monroe.

Introduced by models Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid, the "Love Me Harder" songstress paid homage to Monroe's film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes by nailing the "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" pink dress and diamond necklace look. Grande did not show up in Monroe's signature blonde locks, although we all wish she would have. Instead, she loosened up her usual high pony, half-up, half-down look with a relaxed version.

When it came to Grande's performance, she stripped down her guitar heavy new single and was only backed by pianist Jason Robert Brown, the man responsible for casting her in her first role, 13: The Musical. Grande has shared a similar, intimate rendition of the song before, but this one allowed her to show off her jazzy side with a bit of old Hollywood. The slowed down rendition allowed Grande's vocals to really shine, hit new ranges and may have led her to produce one of her best performances to date.

A few hours before Grande took the stage, she spoke with MTV about her upcoming performance and what audiences could expect.

"It's more character-y and I'm excited to just have fun, play dress-up, and do a different version of it," she explained.

This is not the end of Grande's promotion for the smash single "Dangerous Woman" as she is set to release her second visual, which she says is nothing like the first and nothing that's ordinary.

"This one's more cinematic and weird and tells a story," she dished." It's very different from the first one. I wanted to do a sexy, simple, more glamorous video, which was visual one. And then the second one is very different... This video is so weird."

This performance was Grande's first at the MTV Movie Awards and leaves us wanting more. Thankfully, we can expect Grande's newest album on May 20 and we cannot wait.
