Public Enemy's Chuck D has shared a letter that Tupac Shakur wrote to him, in which he talks about the respect he had for the emcee. As Rolling Stone reports, Chuck tweeted, "Letter from Pac, but you should have seen mine."

The letter, written in September 1995, notes how highly he regarded the Public Enemy frontman and how much his support and guidance meant to him. He also offered a few opportunities to collaborate, including taking part in an unknown program that Shakur wanted to start, a role in a movie, and a guest appearance on his album.

As Rolling Stone points out, Shakur was serving time in a New York prison when he wrote the letter. He had been convicted on two counts of sexual abuse in the first degree for offensive touching without consent. He mentioned making bail, pending appeal, and told Chuck that he hoped to be out by the time the letter reached him.

He also mentions getting signed to Death Row and his plan to record his fifth album, All Eyez on Me (originally titled Euthanasia). Although he said in the letter that he hoped Chuck and Sister Soujah would collaborate on the record, neither of them ultimately ended up on the album. Shakur also finished the Makaveli album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory the same year, just days before his death. As RS notes, it is unclear whether "Da Struggle Continuez," was ever recorded.

Shakur was murdered less than a year after writing the letter.
