After the death of music legend David Bowie earlier in 2016, the organizers of Portland's annual "Bowie vs Prince" bike ride were wondering what to do with their springtime event, and wanted to make it a fitting tribute to the deceased musician. But then Prince passed away last week, which forced the organizers to make an even bigger decision: this year would be the last for the annual bike ride.

Though the deaths have rocked the world, this annual bike ride will give the stars a great send off by simply putting together the ride one last time.

"We felt like a lot of people wouldn't want to be Prince in light of [Bowie's death]. I guess for better or worse, it's now going to be Bowie vs. Prince again," organizer Lillian Karabaic told KATU.

If you're wondering what this bike ride entails, "It's just a ride where people can dress up as either Bowie or Prince and then ride around Portland, have a good-natured dance party and enjoy themselves," Karabaic explained.

"I think this will be the final year for Bowie vs. Prince," she said. "We can use it as an awesome send off to both their lives. Bowie vs. Prince is going to be a totally different type of ride this year. It's going to be a memorial ride."
