Perhaps money is a little tighter for Big Boi than we've been led to believe. Or perhaps the rapper, one half of Atlanta's renowned rap duo Outkast, just really enjoys reality television and couldn't wait to take part. Either way, Boi will be starring in the upcoming version of "Celebrity Big Brother," allegedly, and not even the American version. The British version.

At the moment, this is all speculation, even if it's well founded speculation. British tabloid The Sun reports that the rapper will be paid the U.S. equivalent of $460,410 for his participation. The rest of the rumored contestants don't live up to Big Boi's celebrity status, at least on this side of the pond. They include several actors, a former soccer coach and Abz, a member of British boy band 5ive. A source said that the show liked to bring in an American celebrity to keep things fresh.

"Producers always like to mix things up with an American star and they hope Big Boi will do the business this year," they said.

Big Boi hasn't exactly fallen off the face of the planet since Outkast's last album. He's put out two solo albums, "Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty" in 2010 and "Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors" in 2012. Hopefully a "Celebrity Big Brother" appearance was not the kind of dangerous rumor he was referring to.

Speaking of solo output, more rumors abound as to when Outkast's other emcee, Andre 3000, will release his debut solo album. BET's President of Programming Stephen Hill tweeted that the rapper had told him the disc would drop in 2014, but a representative for the star denied the suggestion.
