Troy Ave is being held without bail following his arraignment in the T.I. concert shooting case. The Brooklyn rapper, real name Roland Collins, has been charged with attempted murder as well as criminal possession of a weapon at the incident this past Wednesday (May 31) in Irving Plaza in New York City. The shooting left three wounded and Collins' bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter, dead.

Collins was reportedly handcuffed to his wheelchair when brought to a Manhattan court, but pleaded not guilty to all charges against him. The Daily News reported that he will not be granted bail until the trial ensues.

According to SPIN, the charges were brought forth when surveillance footage surfaced of Collins firing at an unknown target. Prosecutors have asserted that Collins shot five times before shooting himself in the leg. Thus far, he is the only person that has been arrested. Maggie Heckstall is among those wounded in the attack.

The rapper’s attorney, Scott Leemon, released a statement that read, “What really happened here is Mr. Collins is the real victim. The person who was killed at the event, he died a hero. He was his bodyguard. He wasn’t shot by Mr. Collins. He was a lifelong friend.”

His attorney further asserted that it is only 11 seconds of footage and that it is impossible to tell the entire story with that short of a video. “It doesn’t say what happened before, it doesn’t say what happened after,” the statement further read.

Unfortunately for Collins, there is a chance that he might even be charged with murder dependent on the ballistics test results.
