The Foo Fighters are now suing gig insurers for cancelled shows following the Paris attacks that occurred last November.
The band is looking to be reimbursed for the cancelled dates in Europe following the tragedy, as well as filing a suit for Dave Grohl’s broken leg that occurred at a tour stop in Sweden.
According to ITV News, the suit filed cites underwriters with Lloyd’s of London and loss adjuster Robertson Taylor. It is claiming that the insurers are actually owed money for the cancelled shows due to the Paris attacks and Grohl’s broken leg.
SPIN reported that the assaults on Paris resulted in 130 deaths, 89 of which occurred at the tragic Eagles of Death Metal’s concert at Le Bataclan.
“It is with profound sadness and heartfelt concern for everyone in Paris that we have been forced to announce the cancellation of the rest of our tour,” the Foo Fighters wrote in a sympathetic Facebook post at the time. “In light of this senseless violence, the closing of borders and the international mourning, we can’t continue right now. There is no other way to say it. This is crazy and it sucks. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was hurt or who lost a loved one.”
In other news, rumors had been swirling that the band was breaking up following a solo performance by frontman Dave Grohl at the 2016 Oscars. Feeding off the rumors, the band promised a major announcement, which was largely thought to be a split but instead was a joke video featuring Nick Lachey.
