As previously reported, Prince has revealed that he has not one but two studio albums in the works right now: the highly awaited full-length Plectrum Electrum recorded with his band, 3rdEyeGirl, and an untitled solo album.

Prince previewed the second album during a late-night session at his Paisley Park estate, which include tracks such as "The Gold Standard," a remix of "Funk 'n' Roll," an untitled collaboration with Rita Ora, and a song called "This Could Be Us," which was inspired by a meme of him riding on a motorcycle with Apollonia Kotero, taken from his 1984 film Purple Rain.

We never thought we'd see the day when Prince would embrace the Internet and all of its meme-y goodness. But considering he's now joined Twitter and Instagram, he was bound to find some inspiration in the depths of the web.

Yesterday, Prince tweeted a link to a 36-second snippet of his meme-inspired track, "This Could Be Us." The snippet is available for free download here.

The song is a funky, sensual ballad that, of course, features the line "This could be us, but you playin'."

The track is expected to be off Prince's new album (sans 3rdEyeGirl); however, neither the solo record or Plectrum Electrum have been given release dates.

Prince also recently signed a deal with Warner Bros. to release a 30th-anniversary deluxe edition of Purple Rain, digitally re-mastered for the first time with more projects forthcoming.

He is set to headline the Essence Festival next weekend, where he might debut some of these new songs.
