Taking a nod from Ghostface Killah, RZA has stepped forward to endorse Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton for president.

In a new interview, RZA has detailed his reasons for his vote of confidence in Clinton, including how the perception of America is intricately tied with how the president represents themselves abroad. He further described how his own world travels have instilled this belief.

“What that means for me as a world traveler is the image of our president effects us who travel the world - it effects the worldview of us,” RZA said to The Daily Beast. “So when we put in a black man as president, we kind of fulfilled what the principles of our country are: to look at us as that guiding light. So, if we did it with a black man, I think, for our image, it would be very unique for us to do it with a woman, because that follows the principles of what we are saying this country is.”

Fellow Wu-Tang clan member Ghostface also endorsed Clinton to Business Insider earlier in the year, saying, “Right now, I would say Hillary. You know, women have been through a lot in this country. And I would like to take a woman’s opinion just to see the outcome and what it may be. And plus her husband, he’s… been president before. And I think it’d be interesting.”

In other RZA news, Ghostface Killah will be taking over for the rapper on the Wu-Tang Clan reunion album. Their last album, A Better Tomorrow, had been married by disagreements between group members Raekwon and RZA, who eventually settled their differences.

According to Billboard, RZA has also been working with Paul Banks of Interpol on a new collaborative project, Bankz and Steelz. The duo are set to release their album, Anything But Words, on Aug. 26 on Warner Bros. Records.
