Attendees of Dave Chappelle's comedy show were in for quite a surprise last night.

Yasiin Bey, formerly known as Mos Def, returned to America for a performance at Chappelle's comedy show at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.

Complex says he performed "Umi Says" and "History," and he also covered Biggie.

During the appearance, Bey reunited as Black Star with Talib Kweli and performed "Definition" and "Redefinition" for the crowd.

Toward the end of the show, Complex reports Kweli performed "The Blast" and "Get By."

Last month, Music Times reported that Bey was forced to cancel an upcoming tour due to "denied entry" to the country.

With no indication as to what the "legal issues" consisted of, promoters for the tour's opening date issued a statement saying, "We regret to inform you that due to immigration / legal issues Yasiin Bey is unable to enter back into the United States and his upcoming U.S. tour has been canceled."

Rumors began to swirl that had renounced his American citizenship in favor of South African citizenship.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Bey moved to South Africa in May 2013.

"I lived in Brooklyn 33 years of my life. I thought I'd be buried in that place. And around seven years ago, I was like, you know, 'I gotta go, I gotta leave.' It's very hard to leave," he told Rolling Stone. "Let me tell you something, for a guy like me, who had five or six generations not just in America but in one town in America, to leave America, things gotta be not so good with America."

Last week, Kanye West gave a surprise performance at Dave Chappelle's block party as well.
