With the 2013 rendition of the MTV Video Music Awards happening later this month on Aug. 25, the television channel is going in to full force bringing in celebrity promoters for the big event. After announcing performers Lady Gaga and Kanye West in recent days, MTV has unleashed a new promo featuring Miley Cyrus.

The 31-second promo begins at the Barclays Center subway stop, with a street performer strumming an acoustic version of Cyrus' new single "We Can't Stop." It all seems normal enough until a fire performance artist struts on the tracks, and Beastie Boys' "No Sleep Til Brooklyn" begins to blast. Dancers flood the subway, while Cyrus climbs down a ladder, sticking out her tongue and butt, giving her best attempts at looking fierce and sexy.

The whole troop then struts down the tracks, which, by the way is a great way to get yourself killed.

Despite safety precautions, watch the VMA commercial below:

The promo video has sparked rumors that Cyrus will not just appear at the VMAs, as the commercial suggests, but also perform as a surprise.

The commercial first aired during last night's episode of "Teen Wolf" and was teased by MTV on Twitter.

Cyrus, who is nominated for three Moonmen has been campaigning hard to win some VMAs. Up for Best Pop Video, Best Female Video and Best Editing for the controversial "We Can't Stop" clip, the former Disney star and current adult has promoted voting on her Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Most recently, she made a Spaghetti-O's themed Instagram, mimicking the "Twerk" pasta scene from her music video.

Miley Cyrus will appear at the 2013 Video Music Awards on MTV on Sunday, Aug. 25 at 9 p.m.
