Godsmack is revving up the engine for its new album. Today (July 2), the hard rock band unveiled the album artwork for its upcoming sixth studio album 1000hp.

Godsmack is all about the fire and pure spirit of rock 'n' roll on the cover of 1000hp, as displayed by the album cover.

Featuring the signature Godsmack sun logo and a burst of flames, a classic car emerges from the wreckage, chasing away all doubts about the power of pure music.

The album cover, in addition to just being bada$, plays off the theme of the record's title, with 1000hp obviously being a reference to one of rock music's favorite tropes: fast cars.

1000hp will be released in stores and via digital retailers on Aug. 5. The album is currently being led by the hard driving title track "1000hp" as a single.

Godsmack will follow the release of 1000hp with a North American tour, set to kick off Aug. 15 in Clarkston, Michigan and run through September. Check out the full live show schedule below:
