Following her return to the MTV Video Music Awards stage this past Sunday (Aug. 28) Britney Spears now claims that her sons find her “cool” due to her performance with rapper G-Eazy. Spears had not graced the VMAs stage in a decade and performed after Beyonce's Lemonade showcase in a form fitting one-piece. Spears performed her latest single “Make Me” with the rapper, who had also had her take part in his song “Me, Myself and I.”

“We wanted to do something different, something I’ve never done before, so that was probably the coolest thing we could come up with,” Spears said to Elvis Duran on the Morning Show this past Monday following the VMAs (Aug. 29). “He’s so sweet!” She said about G-Eazy. “He’s got a lot of swag, he’s got the whole cool thing going on.”

According to Spears, her performance with G-Eazy upped her cool factor with her two boys Sean and Jayden. “I got to do some of his song, G-Eazy, and so it just made it more interesting for me. My kids think he’s fricken cool! They’re like, ‘Mom! You’re cool now!’ I’m like, ‘Thanks! That’s all I had to do!”

The singer went on to describe to Duran the nerves she endured before the release of her ninth studio album, Glory, last week. She also expressed how a newfound maturity has helped her creative process.

“Yeah, because you want people to appreciate it,” Spears said. “I’ve spent so much time on this record, it means a lot to me… I think that now that I’m older, I’m more up to experiment more and I’m more creative with the people just to try different things because I’ve been doing it for awhile now so it’s fun to change it up.”

In other Spears news, a biopic on the singer’s life starring Natasha Bassett is coming to Lifetime TV. The biopic is reportedly entitled Britney and is the “tumultuous true story” of her rise to fame, breakdown and comeback. It has been reported that Asylum Entertainment is producing the movie, the company behind The Kennedys and Ring of Fire. Spears and her team have not endorsed the biopic nor will they contribute to it.
