Avicii played the final show of his touring career on Sunday at Ushuaia Hotel in Ibiza. It was an emotional moment joined by his team and friends as he performed his final show supported by Albin Myers, The Mambo Brothers, Seeb and KSHMR. With a few days to think about the moment, Avicii shared an Instagram post with a picture of him and his team in front of the crowd at Ushuaia with a note that reflects on the past and looks ahead to the future.
"This Sunday was my last show. But far from my last days in the world of music," begins Avicii.
"Creating music is what makes me happy and I have gotten to know so many great people in my days of touring, seen so many amazing places and created endless of good memories. The decision I made might seem odd to some but everyone is different and for me this was the right one."
He then goes on to thank his fans, crew and family for the opportunity to be a touring DJ.
It is the end of an era for Avicii on the road, but this could mean that he puts out more music now that he isn't burdened by constant travel, jet lag and the stress of touring.
