Justin Bieber stormed off stage at a recent UK gig and reportedly said that “Manchester can’t handle me.” This is the second time in recent memory that the “Sorry” singer has called fans out for screaming too much during his gigs. The recent performance was part of his Purpose World Tour at the Manchester Arena this past Sunday night (Oct. 23).

On Sunday Bieber said fans, “I appreciate all the support, I appreciate love, I appreciate the kind things. But the screaming in these breaks has got to stop. Please and thank you.”

He further said, “I don’t think it’s necessary when I’m trying to say something and you guys are screaming,” then dropped his microphone and walked off stage as the crowd booed.

Bieber returned later and reportedly said to the crowd, “Obviously Manchester can’t handle me. So I’m going to quit talking the rest of the night and just do the music,” adding that he “dedicates his life to this, to performing, to traveling, to bringing smiles to people faces,” and then said, “I feel like people are not giving me the same respect back and it hurts a bit.”

The singer also told fans to “take a chill pill” at another recent UK performance. “Hey guys, could you do me a favor?” He asked the crowd in a fan-shot video. “Could you just relax? For, like, two seconds?… I get it, but I’m like two feet away from you, and I can hear you. I appreciate it, I appreciate all the love, it’s amazing, but can you show it in a different way.”

NME reports that Bieber made headlines earlier in the week for disguising himself in Amsterdam by wearing a fake goatee and wig. He also joined in a football game with a group of school children in London.
