Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have released the music video to their new single "Drug Dealer" featuring Ariana DeBoo. The powerful visual brings to life the struggle portrayed in the song of prescription drug abuse.

The video is a simple, yet evocative visual that starts with Macklemore sitting in a shower looking defeated, going through a vicious detox cycle. He lies around in bed, sweating and ashen as he tries to recover from the withdrawal symptoms of prescription drug addiction. It has a distinct Trainspotting feel as he suffers through his detox.

DeBoo appears during the hooks in a sea of pills as more and more of them keep on falling down. This is part of the message that the pills keep on coming, no matter how harmful they may be to the user. It eventually ends with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis sitting in a meeting room surrounded by other addicts sharing their stories.

He tackles the complicit relationship between big pharma, calling out the makers of Oxycontin, Purdue, Congress and doctors.

DeBoo sums up how the pharmaceutical companies and doctors work together in a harsh assessment with her hook.

"My drug dealer was a doctor, doctor / Had the plug from Big Pharma, Pharma / He said that he would heal me, heal me / But he only gave me problems, problems / My drug dealer was a doctor, doctor / Had the plug from Big Pharma, Pharma / I think he trying to kill me, kill me / He tried to kill me for a dollar, dollar," she sings.

Jason Koenig directed the video.
