When the offspring of a rock star or Hollywood celeb begin to grow older, you can usually bank on them attempting to have a career in the same field as mom or dad. But in the case of U2 frontman Bono's daughter, Eve Hewson, that doesn't seem to be the case. While she has slightly followed Dad, she's become more so interested in taking showbiz by storm in the form of acting, not music.

"He tried to teach me all about the musicality of a line," she recently said at the summer TV critics' tour, "but that's not a good way to go about your acting. He has helped me in other ways, but not really as an acting coach. I call him and ask him about scripts and directors."

Hewson is gearing up to co-star alongside Children of Men and Closer lead Clive Owen on Cinemax's new series The Knick. The show debuts on August 8 and is directed by Steven Soderbergh. Centered on Knickerbocker Hospital in the year 1900, the series follows surgeons, nurses and the rest of the staff, with Owen acting as the leader of the surgical team.

For the record, "Eve" Hewson is actually Memphis Eve Sunny Day Hewson, which means she follows the long line of celebrity-kids-with-unusual-names. Naturally, knowing full well that her high school years would be absolutely torturous, she told the TV critics' tour, "I just went with Eve."

Apparently her father, originally named Paul Hewson, has a thing for bizarre names.
