Bringing special guests onstage by surprise has been a hot trend this year...and every year for that matter. Take a bunch of fans stoked to see one of their favorite musicians perform and then add another huge act into the mix; it can't fail. Yesterday we reported on Danny Brown hosting A$AP Rocky while opening for Eminem, and then the headliner himself bringing Dr. Dre onstage, but we're not sure either of those compares to the guest who Calvin Harris brought up during another UK performance: Will Smith.

Unfortunately, the actor/Fresh Prince of Bel Air didn't perform any of his '90s classics, but rather served as a hype man, introducing the world's highest-earning DJ to the crowd at T in The Park in his homeland of Scotland. The crowd didn't seem to mind thew lack of PG-rated hip-hop, but were thrilled to see the man himself.

We probably could've seen something like this coming. The DJ had posted a photo on Instagram of himself with Smith hanging out at Ibiza, plus the two are part of a project crafting a comedy EDM show, also helmed by Jay Z and Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh. Still, with no offense meant to Flava Flav, it's tough to think of a better hype man than Smith.

Now look, Music Times will be at Lollapalooza on August 2, and we're still debating about which headliner to check out: Outkast (although we caught them at Govermor's Ball) or Harris? If the latter can promise us a guest appearance from the hero behind Independence Day, we'll be sold. Maybe he could try singing this time too?
