Brandy is apparently a big Coldplay fan. Following her 2004 Timbaland-produced song "Should I Go," which sampled the groups hit "Clocks," the R&B crooner is back with a cover of Coldplay's latest single "Magic" off their album Ghost Stories.

The cover stays faithful to the original, almost to a T. She adds some airiness to the vocals and a ting of R&B styling, but it's more or less the same song with female vocals. But that's not a bad thing. Chris Martin would probably approve.

"As if you were to ask me / after all that we've been through /'Still believe in magic?' / Oh yes, I do," she sings.

The Coldplay original version peaked at 14 and ended its chart run at No. 84. Other covers of the track have come from Aloe Blacc and Rita Ora.

Brandy is currently at work on her seventh studio album, the follow-up to 2012's Two Eleven. Back in May, she spoke with Arsenio Hall about the upcoming effort.

"This is the perfect time for me to sing," she said, adding that she planned to write songs about life, love, and motherhood. "I just want to scream on the album."
