The CW released this week a new TV promo for “Riverdale” Season 2 titled “Desperate Times.” The first official trailer for the show’s new season was premiered at the Comic-Con in July. Some details of what is in store for the fans were also revealed during the event. These include Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Veronica (Camilia Mendes) being in a feud that might end their friendship.
The new promo that might have had fans sitting on the edge of their seats begins with Sherrif Keller saying he has some tragic news. Archie (KJ Apa) is shown confused and sad reports Cosmopolitan. Later, he seemed to have ditched his bat for a gun as he waits outside of Pop’s. Another intriguing scene from the 30-second promo is a hot shower scene with Veronica and someone who looks like Archie.
Meanwhile, Betty appears in a waitress uniform which could mean that she will be working at Pop’s in “Riverdale” Season 2. She is shown confronting Mama Coops. A masked man points a gun at a very formal event while Fred’s voice can be heard telling Archie, “can’t let this fear run your life.”
The show’s first season left fans with a lot of questions that they hope to be answered in “Riverdale” Season 2. Foremost is who Fred’s (Luke Perry) assailant was. Who raided Pop’s and why? How was Clifford (Barclay Hope) able to run his drug business in town?
The show’s creator, Robert Aguirre-Sacasa, teased that a very emotional scene that will come in “Riverdale” Season 2 will be the breakup of the friendship of Betty and Veronica. This will be in episode 5 and is promised to make the viewers hurt from watching it.
According to Mendes at the Comic-Con panel, her character’s conflict with Betty will stem from their love and deep concern for each other. But, one of them will not see it that way according to a Collider
report.
Meanwhile, there is more behind Penelope’s (Nathalie Boltt) severe burns than from being trapped inside her burning house last season. She appeared completely covered in bandages in the promo trailer and looked terrified when her daughter caressed her face. Spoilers say that she will stay that way for a while. “Riverdale” Season 2 is set to premiere on The CW on October 11.
