How China plans to overtake the US economy

Each and every week we put together our favorite tracks that had premiered a few days prior into one magnificent mixtape to share with you and your friends. This time around we've decided to share new songs from The Rural Alberta Advantage, Ex Hex, Bat For Lashes and more right here!

Steven Gunn's newest song, "Milly's Garden," is a perfect track to open any mix. An expansive folk tune, the layers on this song remind listeners of classic rock singer-songwriters with a modern twist.

RIYL: Band of Horses, My Morning Jacket, Damien Jurado

Saddle Creek's The Rural Alberta Advantage released a brand new track off of the upcoming 2014 album, Mended With Gold, this week that definitely got us pumped for the autumn. Entitled "Terrified," the song is tells a story of fear and yearning that lingers in our memory after each listen.

RIYL: War on Drugs, Mumford and Sons

We're so happy to have a new track from Speedy Ortiz to include on our mixtape this week. "Bigger Party" is a great new song for fans of the Massachusetts indie rockers, with plenty of biting lyrics and catchy melodies mixed together with dissonant alternative rock instrumentation.

RIYL: Metric, Rilo Kiley

This week gave us some pretty cool collaborations as well. Check out Jeff Tweedy's new song "Wait For Love" with his son, Spencer Tweedy, HERE! Also, Anna Calvi and David Byrne teamed up for this slow burner, "I'm The Man, That Will Find You."

We also had some great new takes on tunes including a cover of Duran Duran's "American Science" by Austra and a remix of Sia's hit song "Chandelier" by Dev Hynes.

King avriel's new track, "180," is a shining light for the future of R&B and Hip Hop. There's a sense of yearning in the singer-songwriter's voice over beats sounding like a Kendrick Lamar track. It's really just an amazing look into what's possible for the genre.

RIYL: Rihanna, Aaliyah

Songstress Natasha Khan, A.K.A. Bat for Lashes, debuted her newest track, "Skin Song," which is also the first taste of the compilation Body of Song. Find out more on this project HERE and then listen to this amazing track below.

RIYL: Sia, Imogen Heap

Let's liven this mixtape back up with "Don't Wanna Lose" from Ex Hex. This is the first single off of the group's recently announced debut album, Rips, and it definitely has us excited for the release!

RIYL: Wild Flag, The Donnas, The Distillers

We recommend sharing this new mixtape with a buddy during a summer thunderstorm that brings on the blues. It's sure to cheer them up in no time!
