‘The Walking Dead’ Promises Action-Heavy Season 8; Enormous Cast to ‘Thin Out’
Fans of the long-running AMC zombie thriller "The Walking Dead" is set to have an explosive season ahead. With a great amount of characters part of the series, the upcoming season 8 hints that the number will go significantly down.
While talking about how great the cast and crew of "The Walking Dead" are with Comic Book, actor Steven Ogg, shares that everyone has to time in some point of the series. Further delivering the point, the actor, who plays as Simon the Savior, describes the upcoming season as "thinning the herd."
Additionally, Movie Pilot recalled that Scott Gimple, executive producer for "The Walking Dead," has previously stated that the next 16 episodes of the series will be heavy on the action. And this confirms the hint Ogg provided, as when there is a lot of action, a lot of dead bodies are bound to follow.
Season 8 of "The Walking Dead" is set to follow the "All Out War" storyline from the comic book series of the same name. This season will place Andrew Lincoln's Rick and his team of survivors up against the Saviors, led by their psychopathic leader Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
First airing in October 2010, "The Walking Dead" television series follows the story of Deputy Rick Grimes as he woke up in a coma in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. Known as "walkers," the zombie-like creatures have overrun the world and the remaining human survivors are scrambling for survival against them and the other humans. After its initial series, it has won several awards, including Writers Guild of America and the Golden Globe Awards
"The Walking Dead" television series is based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman and Tony Moore. As with most adaptations, while it follows the events of the comics, it also takes it liberties for the show.
Season 8 of "The Walking Dead" will premiere with its 100th episode on October 22, 2017.
