My Chemical Romance may be done making new music but that doesn't mean that pop-punk is dead. Yesterday (July 14), the band's former frontman Gerard Way announced the title of his first official solo album on his Twitter account.

Though MCR was oftentimes known for their wild goose chases involving new album announcements, Way was simple in his offering by just tweeting out the record's name.

"I'll figure out a cool way to let you guys know the title have some ideas," he teased last night. "I have an idea... My album is called- Hesitant Alien #hesitantalien. Easier than an egg-hunt, no?"

Alternative Press pointed out that longtime fans of Way's from his My Chemical Romance details were rightly skeptical about the blatant album announcement, but Way reassured a fan on Twitter that the title was real despite past red herrings from MCR days.

A new solo album ushers in a new era of transparency, or so it seems.

Way's album title announcement follows the release of his debut solo single "Action Cat" last month. The tight, hook-filled anthem brings in massive feelings of hope, with punchy drums and sunny harmonies. It's the exact sort of MCR follow-up fans should have wanted and deserve.

Though an album title and lead single have been released, further details surrounding the release of Hesitant Alien including a release date, tracklisting and album cover remain under wraps... for now.

Gerard Way's debut solo album follows the breakup of his longtime band My Chemical Romance in March of last year.
