Kevin Hart opened up about cheating on his wife, Eniko Parrish, in a radio interview on Thursday, Dec. 14. The comedian looked back at his first thoughts when he learned that he got busted.
Hart did not beat around the bush in his response when asked what he was thinking when he got caught cheating. The actor looked back at his mistake and admitted that it was not the finest hour of his life. Hart confessed his guilt "regardless of how it happened and what was involved."
"It's beyond irresponsible ... That's Kevin Hart in his dumbest moment," Hart said in his interview on the Power 105.1 FM show The Breakfast Club. The Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star added that there was no other way around it. He had to face the music.
Hart recalled that when he got caught cheating in Las Vegas, what went through his mind was just to go home, confess his mistake, and make his wife fully aware of the situation that he got his family in. At the same time, he also hoped that Parrish would forgive him and understand that it would not happen again. Hart shared that he also hoped that his wife would allow him to recover from his mistake.
Apparently, Parrish forgave Hart for cheating on her. However, things at home did not return to normal right away. Hart acknowledged that there were or have been consequences to his mistake.
"Any woman is going to — you're going to get some s-t. It's a cold house, it's a very cold house for a minute and rightfully so," the actor further said in his radio interview.
On a good note, Hart's mistake made him realize what he almost lost. Getting caught cheating on Parrish opened his eyes to the importance of family. The 38-year-old Philadelphia native admitted that his mistake made him realize that his family is the foundation of his life. It made him want to fix his mistake badly so he can keep his family intact.
"That's the difference, as a man when you want to work to fix it and you want to fight for what you have," Hart added in the same interview.
Parrish was eight months pregnant with her first child with Hart when the actor confessed to cheating on her. He apologized to his wife and kids from ex-wife, Torrei Hart, in September, through a lengthy video message he shared on his Instagram. In the video, Hart mentioned that someone was trying to make money out of his past misconduct.
The extortionist wanted money in exchange for a sexually provocative video of Hart that shows him cheating on Parrish. The actor refused to pay and instead owed up to his mistake.
