2018 is going to be a great year for Disney and the Marvel Cinematic Universe with blockbuster films Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp ready to storm cinemas. Marvel recently released promotional photos for these characters through a Russian calendar.

Marvel Studios released its 2018 calendar that features its superheroes ready to battle Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Teenage Groot, and Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy are featured in one page along with the Sorcerer Supreme Doctor Strange. Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man, the God of Thunder Thor, and Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow, also appear on the first page of the Russian calendar.

Twitter user MCU News & Tweets shared photos from the pages of the calendar. On the second page is Ant-Man & The Wasp, the latter a newcomer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The Russian calendar also features Wakanda's new leader Black Panther, who made his debut in Captain America: Civil War.

There are a few characters missing from the photos, given that the calendar advertises the release of Avengers: Infinity War. Bruce Banner aka The Hulk, Hawkeye, The Vision, and Scarlet Witch, are not among the ensemble. Perhaps these characters are on another page in the calendar. After all, they were in the trailer released for the 2018 film.

Likewise, there are three interesting character details revealed in the promotional photo for Spider-Man and Captain America. Spidey's costume looks a bit more armored. It could be the new suit that Tony Stark made for the young web-slinger, which debuted at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming. Captain Steve Rogers, on the other hand, appears clean-shaven with his new haircut.

It is also worthy to mention that Thor has his other eye back. Fans who saw Thor: Ragnarok may remember that he lost his right eye after the villain Hela clawed it out. Perhaps the promotional photo was taken during the release of Thor: Ragnarok. This would explain why the God of Thunder is not wearing an eye patch.

Likewise, the Russian calendar re-confirmed reports that Black Widow will sport a blonde hair instead of her usual red tresses in Avengers: Infinity War. It is likely that Natasha Romanov is trying to go incognito since she is on the run following the events in Captain America: Civil War.

The release of the Russian calendar comes ahead of the release of Avengers: Infinity War on May 4, 2018. Meanwhile, Black Panther comes out in theaters on Feb. 16, 2018 and Ant-Man and the Wasp on July 6, 2018.
