Brothers Osborne kicked off the New Year with a treat for their fans. The duo released a recording of their song "Shoot Me Straight," a rock and blues track from their second studio album.

The Brothers Osborne take turns in showcasing their talent in the two-part "Shoot Me Straight." T.J., who is also a vocalist for Church and Bros, lends his singing prowess in the first part of the song, where he sings about a heartache and a hangover. His trademark growling and snarly vocals chime in with the rhythm of the guitar.

"Make it burn the whole way down. Lay my six-foot-four-inch a** out on the ground. Tomorrow I'll have me a hard hangover and one hell of a heartache," T.J. sings in the chorus.

"Pour on my shot of whiskey, shoot me straight," T.J. adds before his voice fades out in the first part of the song.

T.J.'s brother John takes the spotlight next with his searing guitar solo. John covers the remaining three minutes of the nearly seven-minute track with guitar work collaborated with producer Jay Joyce.

"Shoot Me Straight" is a straight-up jam about how a person deals with a broken heart. The lyrics of the song talk about the Osbourne brother asking a girl he likes to drop him fast and hard. The track is relatable since it speaks of the usual tendency for broken-hearted people to wallow their misery in liquor and hard drinks.

Fans of the Brothers Osbourne may be familiar with this song already since this would not be the first time that they have heard the song. The duo has been performing the track during live shows. The brothers also played "Shoot Me Straight" when they performed at the Rolling Stone Country's CMA party in Nashville last November.

However, this is the first time that the brothers did a recording of the song. Fans who want to get their copy of the track can download "Shoot Me Straight" or stream it on Jan. 5. The track is expected to appear in the Brothers Osbourne's second studio album, which is set for release later this year. The song teases what could be a rock and blues-based country album from the brothers filled with John's guitar.

Meanwhile, for those who want to see the Brothers Osbourne live, they can watch their performance at the Island Resort & Casino in Harris, Michigan, on Jan. 12 and 13. It is likely they will sing "Shoot Me Straight" again for the live audience.
