For most people, summer plans include days at the pool, camping trips or beach vacations. The kids are out of school and fun is the word of the season. Matthew West wants his fans to take that fun and turn it into something more. He is challenging everyone to make the rest of this summer a "summer of purpose." He believes that we all can make a difference in our own communities this summer.

  1. Get out and volunteer, donate or serve in your own community
  2. Take a picture or shoot a short video of you doing your "something"
  3. Post it to Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #DoSomethingSummer

Matthew will repost his favorites but as an even better perk, your steps in making a difference may motivate someone else to get out there and do something! Sometimes, people just need a direction or an idea to move towards and you could give them just the push that they need.

If you're short on ideas of what you can do, head over to VoluneerMatch.com and check out their offerings. With 98,382 participating organizations and 83,466 volunteer opportunities, there is sure to be more than one or two great things you can do to serve with purpose.
