Whether it be at the airport or at official events, one thing has been clear from authorities to regular human beings: In the post-9/11 era, it's not okay to be humorous about anything anywhere that terrorists might be lurking. Fortunately, our British compatriots on the other side of the pond seem to have lightened up a bit, as the Queen's Guard pleased onlookers when they launched into a rendition of the Game of Thrones theme song.

While the President of the United States is usually seen to by an official military band at formal affairs, the Queen's Guard takes care of its own music as well. As seen in the video posted below, the guard is positioned with its instruments in a circle outside of Buckingham Palace in Kings Landing...er...London, when they begin a song featuring a rather unidentifiable drum roll. A tuba comes in followed by the rest of the horns section. Chuckles are heard amongst the crowd as the tune becomes instantly recognizable.

When the song ends a few minutes later, the band immediately falls in order rather than sit around and wait for a round of applause from the tourists gathered nearby. That, ladies and gentleman, is a security force we can believe in. Unfortunately, musical ability is not one of the factors taken into consideration when Secret Service agents are hired, nor do they have much of a sense of humor (although David Blaine really pushed his luck when he met George W. Bush).

We salute Queen Elizabeth for allowing her personal police force the chance to practice some tomfoolery in this uptight world. Of course, she doesn't need to worry about any Jaime Lannister's in her crew...after all, he was only a king slayer.
