Although his collaboration with Jay Z was never released, Jack White still seems to be a fan of the rapper. On Saturday night, White kicked off the latest leg of his North American tour at Louisville's Forecastle Festival. As he has been doing on most dates this tour, he worked a few covers into the set. One of them took place during the encore and happened to be Jay Z's "99 Problems," which he mashed with his White Stripes hit "Icky Thump," Consequence of Sound reports.

"99 Problems" lends itself well to a blues rock rendition with White shouting the lyrics in his signature style.

The cover isn't too big of a surprise seeing as the two artists have worked with each other in the past. In an interview with Rolling Stone, White said that he and Jay had previously collaborated in the studio on a few unreleased tracks. Third Man Records also recently released a special vinyl rendition of Jay's Magna Carta Holy Grail.

Jay Z also featured one of White's tracks on the soundtrack for The Great Gatsby, for which he served as the executive producer of the soundtrack album.
