Australian pop superstar Troye Sivan has officially confirmed that he has recorded a song with "Dangerous Woman" singer Ariana Grande

The 22-year-old made an appearance on BBC Radio 1 on Friday, Feb. 23, to talk about his hit new single, "My My My!," a track from his upcoming album. In the same interview, he teased his collaboration with the former Disney star.

Dream Come True

"This was not a planned announcement," Sivan told radio show host Nick Grimshaw. "But I'm so excited. It sounds exactly like I dreamt it would."

Sivan revealed how the collaboration happened: while hanging out in the studio, he was playing a demo of a track from his upcoming album when he had the courage to ask Grande to sing in the song. Grande thought it would be really fun to work with Sivan and said yes.

He and the 24-year-old singer/actress first met around two years ago, but have kept in touch ever since.

"Her and I are friends," he said about his collaborator. "She's really fun."

The Perth native said that he already previewed the track to several people who are equally surprised and impressed that he got to record a song with Grande.

On Twitter, Sivan shared the good news with his 8 million followers. He called Grande his "pop queen" and announced that the track will be released soon.

Grande's most recent album was Dangerous Woman which was released in 2016.

In The Mood For Collaborations

Sivan confirmed recently that he has written a song with another pop superstar Carly Rae Jepsen. However, the collaboration did not make it into the final cut of his second studio album.

"We wrote a really cute song ... you end up writing 50 songs for an album when you wanna pick 10, so sometimes they just don't make it," he explained

He also revealed in a previous interview that he is a fan of the K-pop group BTS and would like to collaborate with them at some point.

Right now, Sivan is yet to reveal an exact release date for his still-untitled new album but fans probably do not have to wait long. He released the music video for the album's lead single "My My My!," which already entered the Billboard Hot 100, last month. A few days later, he followed it up with the audio of "The Good Side." More recently, he came out with an acoustic version of the hit single "My My My!" Listen to the new track below.
