Azealia Banks and Interscope Records may have parted ways, but the "212" rapper is still going to release new music... next week. Earlier this week, the outspoken emcee and avid tweeter announced a new single "Heavy Metal and Reflective," and it's arriving in just seven days.
Touting that she is now a truly independent rapper and #freeagent on her Twitter, Banks announced the single title in a simple message on July 18: "'HEAVY METAL AND REFELCTIVE' is out 7/29," she wrote before claiming she couldn't wait to "finally start dropping these bangers!"
Over the last few days, Banks has continually touted how great her new music video and song is online, claiming that it's "honestly [her] best video this far" and that it will "make all your heads roll!!!!!"
Though there are no real indications of what "Heavy Metal and Reflective" will sound like (beyond apparently very, very good), there is a taste of what it may look like. Yesterday (July 22), Banks took to her Twitter once again to show off a singular screen grab from the forthcoming music video.
In the image -- which appears to have a light blue or gray filter over it - Banks is rocking a black leather jacket adorned with flames on the chest and matching 3D flames on the sleeve.

"Heavy Metal and Reflective" is a new single from Azealia Banks, due out July 29. Banks parted ways with her label Interscope earlier this month after the company failed to release and promote her debut album. Though she's now a free agent and releasing new songs, the future of an LP for Banks and Broke With Expensive Taste (the planned album) remains a mystery.
