Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway has been upfront about her struggles. However, she openly declared war on critics on Instagram as she prepares to gain weight.

Making A Statement

Entertainment Tonight revealed that Hathaway fired the opening salvo against an upcoming battle with her critics. On Thursday, April 5, The Dark Knight Rises actress filmed herself doing her fitness regiment to her 10.4 million Instagram followers. Throughout the quicksilver speed of the video, viewers saw Hathaway participate in a workout class. The video featured her working out with resistance bands, yoga stretches, and benching with a silver barbell.

"I am gaining weight for a movie role, and it is going well. To all the people who are going to fat shame me in the upcoming months, it's not me, it's you," wrote Hathaway in her Instagram post that was transcribed by U.S. Weekly.

Commemorating The Oscars

During the hours that lead up to the 2018 Oscars, E! News reported that The Princess Diaries star reminisced about her appearance at the 2013 award ceremony, where she took home the Best Supporting Actress statue for her portrayal of Fantine in the 2012 adaption of the musical Les Misérables.

Hathaway revealed in her social media post that she was forced to change the gown she wore to the event and added that she was battling laryngitis that evening. She also wished the current nominees luck and told them to enjoy the evening.

Preparing For 'Ocean's 8'

Hathaway is expected to star alongside an all-star group of actresses in Ocean's 8, the upcoming reboot of Ocean's Eleven. The highly anticipated film will focus on Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), Danny's sister, as she gathers a group of women together to pull off the ultimate heist at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Met Gala.

One person that was almost cut from the film was Matt Damon. The actor, who portrayed Linus Caldwell in the George Clooney and Brad Pitt-backed Ocean's Eleven trilogy, made a controversial comment comparing Harvey Weinstein and Louis C.K.'s fall from graces. Despite the actor's apologetic comments, almost 22,000 people signed a petition and requested to both Ocean's 8 director Steven Soderbergh and producer George Clooney that they cut Damon from the film.

Revisiting 'Alice'

On May 27, 2016, Hathaway reprised her role as the White Queen in Alice Through The Looking Glass. She joined returning castmates including Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, and Helena Bonham Carter as they welcomed Sacha Baron Cohen to the acting company. The Borat actor portrayed the film's main villain, Time.
