In a recent interview with The Phillipine Inquirer, Courtney Love discussed the status of the upcoming biopic based on the life of her late husband, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain, revealing that "The biopic should start within the next year or so."

Love is heavily involved in the film's production, though she states that there are certain aspects of the production process that she'd like to leave to others, such as casting. "I don't want to be the person who makes that decision," she admitted. "Let's leave that to the agents; I have great agents now. But I will have a say in it."

When discussing the types of actors being considered for the film's coveted lead role, Love comments that they're mostly "25-year-olds who are blond, gorgeous, and the new Brad Pitts." She also reveals some of the methods that these actors are using to bag the role, saying, "Some beautiful blond, tragic, gorgeous actor boy is hitting on me, and why? He wants to play Kurt. So I am moving that over to the agency side. I am not Cecil B. Demille or anything like that. I don't want to be the producer per se."

Despite her reservations about having a say in casting, Love does emphasize her important role in the production as a whole, as well as that of her daughter Frances Bean and Cobain's former bandmates. "I do have a say in it," she explained. "So do Frances, and Krist [Novoselic] and Dave [Grohl], for that matter, if it touches on Nirvana - and it will. I am leading the charge because it's time to do this."
