The boys of 5 Seconds of Summer stopped by Hollywood's own Jimmy Kimmel Live! for a performance on last night's episode. Before they made their way to the stage, however, the guys chose to have some fun with a few of their oh, so intense fans via a kissing contest.

How it works? The girls were placed in front of a television screen and told to talk to a picture of band that sat just underneath the screen. After a few seconds of awkwardness, with quite a few bumbling through their sentences, a random member from the group appeared onscreen and began talking to the fan.

Following their hyperventilating and utter shock, the fan was told the group was attempting a 24-hour "kiss record." Since none of the 5SOS-enthusiasts turned down a chance to lock lips with the guys via the screen, it was then time for the girls to pucker up and move close.

Mid-kiss, the guys split and brought in someone who wasn't exactly the person their fans were hoping for. Check out the full Kimmel bit below:

Following the prank, each of the guys – Michael, Luke, Calum and Ashton – greeted their potential stalkers and gave them all a warm welcome and some hugs –– and yes, even a couple of kisses.

Thinking about it, who would you rather kiss: Abraham Lincoln, Guillermo Rodriguez (Kimmel's "sidekick") or ... that old guy?

After the sketch, the band got together to play in front of a packed crowd outside Kimmel's LA-based studio. Check out their performance of "Beside You" below:
