Cheap Trick drops its new song "The Summer Looks Good On You." The track was unveiled after the band's North American tour with Poison commenced.

Robin Zander, the frontman of Cheap Trick, cowrote the song with Rick Nielsen, guitarist; Tom Petersson, bassist; and Julian Raymond, producer. Raymond also worked with Cheap Trick on its three most recent LP.

Rick Nielsen Teases 20th LP

"The Summer Looks Good On You" serves as Cheap Trick's carriage single for its 20th LP. It will be released sometime this year. The official release date and tracklist for the LP have not yet been unveiled, but Nielsen previously shared other details about the project.

"We have about 10 songs down now, so it is coming along. I will call you first when the new album is ready," said Nielsen during his interview with Buzz Magazine.

Cheap Trick Tours

In related news, Cheap Trick kicked off its Nothin' But A Good Time North American tour on Friday, May 18, in Irvine, California. Poison will join most of the show dates this month and in June. Their shows will wrap up on June 24.

Cheap Trick will also join Journey and Def Leppard on tour, but they will only perform with the bands on select dates. The band is scheduled to close out the year while touring in Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom with Def Leppard.

Cheap Trick is an American rock band from Rockford, Illinois, that was formed in 1974. The band released its debut album in 1977. The members first found success in Japan with the release of its second album In Color. In 1979, Cheap Trick gained popularity in the United States with the help of its breakthrough album Cheap Trick at Budokan.
