Haim decides to fire their agent after learning about pay disparity with a male artist. Haim and the unnamed musician both performed at the same festival.

Alana Haim, one of the members of the trio, said that she and her sisters did not second guess their decision to perform at the festival because they knew it would help them gain attention.

Haim is currently in the UK for their ongoing "Sister Sister Sister" world tour. The trio is scheduled to perform in Dublin on June 13.

Haim Shares Their Story

However, Alana, Este, and Danielle were later informed that a male artist performing at the same festival received 10 times more of their pay. Alana said that this encouraged her and her siblings to stand up for themselves.

"It's scary out there and [messed] up not even to be paid half the same amount. But to be paid a tenth of that amount of money? It was insane," said Alana.

Danielle revealed that their agent told them that their pay was much lower because they agreed to play at the festival merely for exposure and so, their songs will be played on the radio. Despite the explanation, Haim decided to fire the agent and move forward.

The trio is encouraging more female artists to work in the music industry and take on more technical roles. Danielle acknowledged the fact that there are a lot of women working in the studio at the moment. However, only a few consider working as engineers and studio technicians.
