The new Brad Paisley album Moonshine in the Trunk is right around the corner with an Aug. 26 release date, but over the weekend it seemed as though the Rising Star judge couldn't get his music out to his fans fast enough. In what may or may not have been a quick little publicity stunt, it seems as though the country crooner leaked some snippets of his own material on Twitter.

"I'm going rogue. The label doesn't know I'm doing this. Seriously. But I made a Moonshine Preview teaser. Don't tell," he wrote on Saturday (July 26) evening, posting a since-removed album teaser.

But the shenanigans from the notorious prankster didn't end there, with Paisley insisting that his label deal with the uncleared snippets and previews in a series of emails... and when they took one down, he put another right back up!

"Gotta go do a show now. But here is the link to the album trailer that should work," he wrote before posting a 1:13 video with two to three second snippets of new Brad Paisley material. Blending together the worlds of modern mainstream country and pop, Moonshine in the Trunk is all Paisley, no fuss. Or at least that's what these snippets suggest.

And though Paisley insisted he would get in trouble with his management and label, posting screenshots of friendly yet angry industry "suits" all the while, that didn't stop him from releasing a third Moonshine in the Trunk preview, though he did it via his fellow Rising Star expert Ludacris.

What a prankster!

Paisley's new album Moonshine in the Trunk will be released on Aug. 26. It is currently being led by the single "River Bank."
