A 21-year-old woman in New Jersey has been charged with 11 felonies after allegedly hacking the email of Selena Gomez in 2015 and 2016.

Selena Gomez Hacker Charged

Susan Atrach has been charged with five counts of identity theft, five counts of fraud, and one count of using computer data without permission. If found guilty, she might be facing up to 10 years in prison.

She is expected to be arraigned by Aug. 27. The Hollywood Reporter says that she is yet to enter a plea deal. Prosecutors also do not know whether she has hired an attorney who could comment on her behalf. A man who identified himself as Atrach's father has also declined to speak to the press.

The case stems from several incidents back in 2015 and 2016 when Atrach accessed Gomez's and an acquaintance's email accounts. She also allegedly posted private photos from the diva's email and shared them with other people.

While the incident was not detailed by the persecutors, Page Six suspects that the hacking might have something to do with a story from last year. To recall, last August, several nude photos of Gomez's then-boyfriend Justin Bieber were posted on the "Back To You" singer's Instagram account.

The photos were immediately taken down. The singer-songwriter's camp confirmed that her account was hacked, but they have since regained access to it.

Variety also revealed at the time that the photos looked like it came from the couple's vacation at Bora Bora in 2015.

Gomez is yet to issue a statement regarding the case.
