It seems as though Pabst Blue Ribbon beer has finally accepted its place in American indie culture with the announcement of Project Pabst, a three-day music festival in Portland, Oregon. The festival will take place across various venues in Portland from September 26-28 and will feature sets from Modest Mouse (who are based in Portland), Tears For Fears, Guided By Voices, and Violent Femmes. The Wu-Tang Clan's GZA is also scheduled to appear, and will be performing his 1995 solo album Liquid Swords in its entirety.

Single day, weekend, and full festival passes are available for advance purchase right now, and they look pretty affordable. There is also a series of "Night Shows," which require separate ticket purchases. Perhaps not shocking for a festival being sponsored by a beer company, you must be 21 or older to attend. The Project Pabst website notes that one dollar from each ticket purchase will go to the Jeremy Wilson Foundation, which provides emergency medical assistance to musicians and their families.
