At exactly midnight, Canadian rapper Nav drops new single, "Turks," featuring fellow rappers Gunna and Travis Scott.

While fans have been picking up references to the new track over the previous months, there has been no definite date on when it was going to be released. During an Instagram Live session, Nav told Gunna that they "should drop it tomorrow."

"They've been begging me for it, I'll just put it out tomorrow... That's it, tomorrow 'Turks' comin' out tomorrow." True to his word, the single indeed dropped at midnight today, March 27.

Nav has recently commemorated the first anniversary of "Bad Habits", his second studio album under XO Records and Republic Records. His sophomore album was his breakthrough work in the Billboard 200, debuting right at the top spot. Also, the same album was confirmed to be his fourth work under his belt to become certified gold.

This trio behind "Turks" have collaborated once before, in Travis Scott's "Yosemite", receiving critical acclaim. Meanwhile, Scott and Nav have worked twice previously, "Yosemite" and now "Turks". Scott guested in Nav's "Champion" while Nav himself was the guest in Scott's "Beibs in the Trap".

"Turks" is currently available on Nav's official YouTube channel, the music does not yet have a music video to it.

Nav, born Navraj Singh Goraya, is a Canadian rapper and songwriter from Ontario. His parents are of Indian Punjabi descent. Goraya started his career in 2015 as a contributor to Drake's single, "Back to Back", which was a diss track to rapper Meek Mill. Later that year, he released one of his first songs in SoundCloud. The single "Take Me Simple" has earned more than ten million streams on the music listening site.

It was in 2016 that he would first work with Travis Scott for the single "Beibs in the Trap", where Nav also co-wrote and produced, and he appeared in it. Nav would later release his self-titled debut mixtape in 2017, shortly after signing under XO Records and Republic Records. The album's lead single, "Some Way", is a collaboration between Nav and The Weeknd.

In April 2018, Nav would headline his "Freshman Tour", in line with his mixtape produced together with Metro Boomin, covering a 20-date tour across North America. The concert had stops in major cities, including New York, Denver, Atlanta, Boston, and More.

His next album, released in 2018 and titled "Reckless," would feature performances from other hip-hop artists such as Quavo and Lil Uzi Vert. Travis Scott would appear in Nav's single "Champion," while Gunna featured in the single "Eat."

The Canadian rapper would also receive backlash over his career, beginning with being called out for heavily using the n-word in his singles, especially "My Mind" and "TTD". In a 2017 interview with Genius, Nav explained that their neighborhood in Rexdale, where he grew up, was multicultural. He added that he was making music for him and his friends in the beginning, but once he reached the global level, he started cutting it out because of the response he's getting.
