In the time of social distancing, pop icon Ariana Grande decides to part ways with her signature ponytail and show off her natural curls, in a Twitter post, Monday, March 31.

In the post, captioned "get a load a dis," her 72.5M followers were treated to an au naturale selfie of the "Bang Bang" singer. Her dark tresses curl naturally down the 26-year-old singer's face and past her shoulders.

Fans were pleased by the more natural look of the singer, some of them quipped, telling Ari to never "put the ponytail on ever again". The Twitter selfie garnered close to half a million likes as of this writing.

While the "Into You" artist never revealed whether it was her natural hair in the now-viral selfie, a retweet from her mother, Joan Grande, seems to confirm that it was indeed her natural curls.

"Your natural hair/ curls is a world of its own," her 49-year-old mom wrote on the social media platform. "A magnificent beauty you are inside and out/ made up or natural... I love you..."

More than 26 thousand people currently agree with Joan Grande's message to her daughter.

While the actress-singer now enjoys healthier hair, that was not always the case. The Little Red previously shared about the severe damage her long locks had to suffer her roles in the Nickelodeon series "Victorious" in 2010 and its spin-off "Sam & Cat" in 2014. She first played Catarina "Cat" Valentine, the definitely smart yet slightly airheaded friend to Tori Vega, then played by Victoria Justice.

She said that she had to bleach her hair and then dye it red for the first 4 years of playing the role and that it "completely destroyed" her hair, according to a 2014 Facebook post. She also explained that she wore a ponytail because her "actual hair is so broken that it looks absolutely ratchet and absurd when [she lets] it down."

The raised ponytail made longer by extensions has become Ariana Grande's signature hairdo after trying out wigs.

In the same post, she expresses that it's more difficult for her to wait for her natural hair to grow back and to "have to wear more fake hair than every drag queen on earth combined".

Grande rarely shares her natural hair to the public. Two years ago, she posted a picture on Instagram flaunting her then shoulder-length hair. Ari also posted her natural curls in an IG story video posted last November 2019.

Beginning a career in Broadway, then in TV shows, Ariana Grande released her first debut album as a singer in 2013's "Yours Truly," drawing inspiration from doo-wops of the 1950s. Four more studio albums would follow this: "My Everything" in 2013, "Dangerous Woman" in 2016, "Sweetener" in 2018, and "Thank U, Next" last year.

So far, she is the only artist in history to have all lead singles, from her first five albums, debut within the top ten of the US Charts. "The Way" debuted at No. 10 and peaked at No. 9, "Problem" debuted at the third spot, "Dangerous Woman" opening at the tenth spot, "No Tears Left to Cry" also debuted third, while "Thank U, Next" opened right at the top of the charts.
