While the rest of the world is staying safe in their homes in the period of self-isolation and quarantine, Taylor Swift kept fans company. The singer-songwriter opened "Hits 1 n chill," the Home DJ series on SiriusXM Hits 1 on Friday, April 3. She acted as a DJ spinning from home, which rolled out at noon ET on SiriusXM radios (channel 2) and the SiriusXM app.

Taylor curated her playlist and shared some of the great music she has been listening to during the quarantine. Included were the tunes from Conan Gray's "Maniac," Justin Bieber's "Intentions," Harry Styles' "Adore You," Ariana Grande's "Into You," and Jonas Brothers' "What A Man Gotta Do." Other tracks she played were from Halsey, Niall Horan, and Billie Eilish.

Her choices were not without controversy, though. Swifties were not short of hitting tweets during her DJ stint. Harry Styles and Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers were the singer's ex-boyfriends. Bieber, on the other hand, is not in good terms with Taylor. The "Shake It Off" singer has a very close friendship with Selena Gomez, Bieber's ex-girlfriend.

In between the sets, DJ Swift shared her activities while in self-quarantine. She said that "we are living through unprecedented times," and wished safety and good health for the audiences. Swift said she was keeping in touch with friends weekly through FaceTime, which was "always hilarious." Taylor stressed the importance of connecting amid physical distancing; she is thankful that it is possible through modern technology.

She further said that watching unseen movies and classic films have kept her entertained. She mentioned the classic 1954's thriller "Rear Window." She encouraged her fans to add it to their list of great old films to view, along with shows they might be catching up on right now. She also said she spent her time with lots of cooking and lots of reading.

Swift admitted that staying online made her think of ways on how she can be of help to others during the COVID-19 crisis. She took particular notice by shouting out to front liners' dangerous efforts as they go to work each day. The singer was reported to help out her fans secretly by sending financial assistance, particularly to those who have lost their jobs. Swifties' acknowledged her charity by posting on Twitter.

Swift's DJ stint was broadcasted over the weekend for those who failed to catch her last Friday. SiriusXM's non-subscribers are also in for a treat - it has announced that its platform will be available for free until May 15.

Aside from Taylor who entertains listeners over SiriusXM Hits 1, several artists were tapped to spin their series. Included in the list, according to a press release, are Niall Horan, Camila Cabello, Sia, Charlie Puth, Diplo, 5 Seconds of Summer, Kelsea Ballerini, and Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz.

President and CCO of Sirius XM Scott Greenstein told Rolling Stone that they love to connect fans to their favorite artists. He said, "our Home DJ series will bring some of the biggest names in music into our homes" for people to be kept entertained. He was reported to have said, that "our new Stream Free option opens up our channels" for those who seek diversion and great music.
