Various artists pay tribute to the late legendary country singer John Prine. Among these artists who honored Prine are Roger Waters, Bonnie Raitt, Dave Matthews, Jim James, Colin Meloy, and Kevin Morby.

British singer-songwriter and Pink Floyd bassist-vocalist Roger Waters is one of the artists who honored Prine. He covered Prine's song "Paradise" on his YouTube channel, captioning it with "Miss you, brother".

Meanwhile, Bonnie Raitt performed the single "Home" from her living room. She dedicated the song to Prine and to everyone enduring the pandemic. "For those who aren't blessed to have a secure and safe home and adequate medical care, and are worried about their economic future, and going through medical health crises, my heart is going out to you. I'm still so heartbroken over the loss of John Prine, and I know you are, too... To that angel from Montgomery, this one's for John," according to Raitt in her video posted to Consequence of Sound's article.

Consequence of Sound also made a live tribute to Prine via Instagram, Pitchfork reports. The video featured Colin Meloy of the Decembrists, Kevin Morby, John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats, Grace Potter, Norah Jones, the Head and the Heart, Lake Street Dive, and more. CoS streamed April 11, at 2 pm Eastern Time.

The event was dedicated to the Nashville Rescue, Room in the Inn, and Thistle Farms to honor the wishes of Fiona Whelan Prine, John's wife.

Jim James, the frontman of May Morning Jacket also honored Prine. Wearing a straw hat, he gave an acoustic rendition of some of Prine's songs while in his home in Los Angeles. He described John Prine's songs as funny, and he finds this amazing as very few people can do it the way Prine does. He added that unlike others, Prine could make a sad song entertaining and the other way around.

In an article from Rolling Stone, James chose "Speed of the Sound of Loneliness", from Prine's album "German Afternoons". He then performed "Spanish Pipedream" and "Paradise". He also sent a message on his video to Prine's family and those facing the coronavirus.
