Rapper-songwriter DaBaby hints at dropping new music on Friday, according to a Twitter post on his profile yesterday, April 13.

The "Suge" rapper tweeted "THIS FRIDAY!" followed by a shush and optical disk emojis. DaBaby's tweet now has close to 60 thousand likes, with almost 10 thousand retweets.

An hour later, he posted a screenshot of his tweet to his Instagram account to 496,000 likes as of this writing.

DaBaby recently dropped the ten-minute music video for "Find My Way," displaying his acting skills in a modern reimagining of "Bonnie and Clyde" with his girlfriend, social media personality B. Simone. The mini-film was produced by DJ Kid and directed by Reel Goats, DaBaby's three-person directing crew is responsible for bringing his earlier hits "Suge" and "Carpet Burn" to life.

In an interview with Billboard during the 62nd Grammy Awards, the Charlotte native said that he's "gonna leak a whole album." He also assured fans that he would carry the momentum from 2019 to this year, describing the past year as his playtime.

"It's all about elevating, man... Never complacent, never satisfied," DaBaby shared in the interview.

His last album, "Kirk," released last March 2019, was a critical and commercial success. It topped the Billboard 200 chart with more than 145,000 similar album sales, spawning hits such as "Vibez" and "Bop."

Out of jail and back in the business

Early this year, DaBaby was temporarily detained and questioned in relation to an ongoing robbery investigation. Later, the rapper was arrested because of a battery charge warrant from Texas.

As reported by multiple media outlets such as TMZ, members of DaBaby's team allegedly attacked a music promoter in Florida. The fight stemmed from an apparent dispute about a nightclub performance. The victim also claims that the rapper's crew stole $80 in cash, as well as his debit card and his smartphone. DaBaby was released from the Miami-Dade County jail after 48 hours.

After posting a $1,500 bond for his release, he immediately took to Instagram Live on January 5 to explain the commotion before teasing his upcoming music produced by songwriter-producer Wheezy. The following day, he posted another video on the social media platform, rapping in his car with a thick stack of money.

DaBaby's "That's So Raven" Episode

In an Instagram Live video two weeks ago, April 1, DaBaby met with his childhood crush Raven-Symoné. What started as a video call on IG Live soon escalated into a physical meeting between the rapper and the "That's So Raven" star, despite the social distancing in place.

DaBaby called Raven his "ex-girlfriend," and shared his experience when the popular Disney show went off the air, calling the experience a "heartbreak." Raven-Symoné playfully flirts with the rapper, calling him "baby."

The two artists then talked about different topics, from their preferred way of eating a burger to their ways of staying safe in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic. The "Bop" rapper then drove to where Raven was to give her ice cream in exchange for her secret pepper sauce.
