Janelle Monae has shared the music video for her funky new single "Electric Lady," which you can watch below. The video is the fourth to be released from her latest album The Electric Lady, following "Q.U.E.E.N.," "Dance Apocalyptic," and "PrimeTime."

The video for "Electric Lady" features Monae busting out some great moves at a dance party with her friends at her sorority "Electro Phi Beta," which seems to exist in some strange alternate universe where people take pictures on their iPhones but still play music off of 8-track players in their cars. The video features cameo appearances by plenty of other musicians including T.I., Estelle, Esperanza Spalding, T-Boz of TLC, Monica, Kimbra, Joi, and photographer Fatima Robinson. Monae's own mother even makes an appearance, playing herself at the beginning of the video and doubting the existence of "Electro Phi Beta," which she calls "Electrified Ladies."

The Electric Lady was released back in September and debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard charts, giving Monae her first top 10 album. The album continues the artist's ongoing series of concept albums inspired by Fritz Lang's 1927 film Metropolis. The previous installments in this series were Monae's debut EP Metropolis: Suite I from 2007 and her debut full-length The ArchAndroid from 2010, which contained suites two and three. The Electric Lady contains suites four and five, with the series expected to conclude with suites six and seven on her next LP.
